Gameweek 1

The league began on Friday night with Liverpool hosting Norwich at Anfield which ended in a 4-1 win for Liverpool who will be hoping to win the league after coming so close last season. However irrespective of the score Norwich shouldn’t be too disheartened by the result because they still had several shots on target and it is only their first game of the season and they may need time to adjust to the Premier league.

Another game of note was Manchester City’s trip to West Ham where they managed a 5-0 result against the hammers with goals coming for Gabriel Jesus (25′), Raheem Sterling (51′, 75′ & 90+1′), and a Penalty for Sergio Aguero in the 86th minute. There were some much talked about VAR intervention where Raheem Sterling’s goal was disallowed for him being offside all be it by what seemed millimetres.

Harry Kane ended his no scoring in August by scoring two (86′ & 93′) to get Tottenham the win after Tanguy Ndombele equalised in the 73rd minute. Aston Villa started off the game strong scoring in he 9th minute but Mauricio Pochettino brought on Eriksen who seemed to be vital in Tottenhams win as well as their experience in the Premier league.

Finally in the last game Manchester United hosted Chelsea at Old Trafford and Frank Lampard’s first Premier league game as a manager didn’t go the way he would have wanted. Manchester United secured a 4-0 win to put them second in the table going into gameweek 2. James, Maguire and Wan-Bissaka all had good debuts for the team with Maguire and Wan-Bissaka keeping a clean sheet and Daniel James scoring United’s fourth goal of the afternoon.

What is to come in gameweek 2? Will there be any surprises?
